Dr Mark Lee was honoured to be the Scientific Convenor of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Annual Scientific Congress held in Perth during 4-7 May 2010 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
Guest speakers from Canada, Netherlands and Sweden ensured a fantastic congress that was attended by hundreds of plastic and reconstructive surgeons from around Australia. The program feedback from attending surgeons has been extremely positive and Dr Lee found the experience of organising the congress to be challenging yet extremely rewarding.

Patients can rest assured - Dr Lee uses Mentor breast implants in all breast augmentation procedures. Dr Lee and fellow plastic surgeon Dr Tony Baker, along with anaesthetists Dr Ross Ireland and Dr Barney Creswell, spent two weeks operating on over 50 children and adults in Bugando Hospital, Mwanza. Our practice nurse, Caroline, joined the team to assist with surgeries that included cleft lip and palate repairs, burn contractures and reconstructive microsurgery of unusual facial deformities.
Dr Lee and Dr Baker spent time teaching both the local surgeons and nurses new skills in order to continue this valuable work.

| The 333, a new anatomical breast implant by Mentor was launched in Australia recently. The 333 implant is a high profile, firm cohesive gel implant with a gradual upper pole slope which gives a natural look to the breast. On 24 October 2008 Dr Lee was the first doctor in Australia to use the 333 implant with excellent results. He feels that this implant will be very useful in breast cancer reconstruction and also in some cosmetic augmentation cases. |
