Dr Mark Lee has recently returned from the 17th International Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Congress (IPRAS) in Chile where he presented a paper on an innovative new method of breast reconstruction, the scarless latissimus dorsi method, utilising the latissimus dorsi muscles on the back without leaving any scars on the back. Previously this surgery would leave a large diagonal scar over each shoulder blade, however this new method raises the muscle flap through the mastectomy incisions, therefore leaving no scars on the back.
